1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) and WEBNUM LLC (“Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), governing your access to and use of the Cointerest mobile application (the “App”) and all related services, features, content, and functionality offered through the App.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Cointerest, you affirm that you are at least 16 years of age and possess the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are accessing or using the App on behalf of a business or other legal entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately cease all use of the App and delete it from your device.
2. Description of Services
Cointerest is an artificial intelligence-powered mobile application designed to help numismatists, collectors, dealers, and hobbyists identify, grade, value, and catalog coins from around the world. The App provides the following core services:
AI-Powered Coin Identification: Using advanced computer vision and deep learning models, the App analyzes photographs of coins to identify their country of origin, denomination, year of minting, mint mark, series, metallic composition, designer, and historical context. The system is trained to recognize coins spanning a broad range of countries, historical periods, and minting traditions, from ancient to modern issues.
AI-Assisted Grading: The App analyzes the visible condition of a coin from photographs, assessing surface preservation, luster, strike quality, wear patterns, contact marks, and evidence of cleaning or damage to provide an estimated grade on standard numismatic scales (such as the Sheldon 1–70 scale). These AI-generated grades are preliminary estimates and are not equivalent to professional third-party grading (TPG) services such as PCGS, NGC, or ANACS.
Estimated Valuation: The App provides AI-generated estimated market values based on the identified coin type, its estimated grade, recent auction results, dealer price guides, historical sales data, and current market trends. These estimates are provided for informational and reference purposes only and do not constitute professional appraisals, investment advice, or certified valuations.
Variety and Error Detection: The App’s AI models are trained to detect notable coin varieties, die errors, doubled dies, off-center strikes, repunched mint marks, clipped planchets, broadstrikes, and other numismatically significant anomalies that may affect a coin’s collectibility and market value.
Digital Collection Management: Users may save identified coins to a personal digital collection within the App, organize coins by type, country, series, or custom categories, track acquisition details including purchase price and date, monitor estimated collection value over time, and add personal notes and tags to individual entries.
Numismatic Knowledge Base: The App provides access to educational content about coin history, minting processes, grading standards, collecting strategies, and market trends, enhanced by AI-curated information.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the App at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you.
3. Important Disclaimers
3.1 Not a Professional Grading Service
COINTEREST IS NOT A PROFESSIONAL COIN GRADING SERVICE. The AI-generated grades provided by the App are preliminary estimates based on photographic analysis and are not equivalent to, and should not be represented as, grades issued by professional third-party grading services (such as PCGS, NGC, ANACS, or ICG). Professional grading involves physical, in-hand examination under controlled conditions and cannot be replicated through photographs alone. We strongly recommend submitting valuable coins to a recognized professional grading service for authoritative certification.
3.2 Not an Appraisal or Financial Advice
The estimated valuations provided by the App are AI-generated approximations based on available market data and are for informational reference only. They do not constitute, and shall not be construed as, professional appraisals, certified valuations, insurance valuations, investment advice, or any form of financial guidance. Coin values fluctuate based on market conditions, demand, population reports, eye appeal, toning, provenance, and numerous other factors that the App cannot fully account for. Do not rely on the App’s valuations for buying, selling, insuring, or investment decisions without independent verification from qualified numismatic professionals or recent comparable sales data.
3.3 Not a Substitute for Expert Consultation
We strongly recommend consulting with qualified numismatic professionals, certified dealers, or auction specialists before making significant purchasing, selling, or investment decisions based on information provided by the App. This is especially important for high-value coins, rare varieties, and authentication questions, as counterfeit detection from photographs alone has inherent limitations.
3.4 Authentication Limitations
While our AI models are trained to identify common signs of counterfeiting, tooling, and artificial alteration, photographic analysis has significant limitations for authentication purposes. The App cannot guarantee the authenticity of any coin. Physical examination, weight verification, specific gravity testing, and other hands-on diagnostic methods may be required for reliable authentication, particularly for high-value and frequently counterfeited issues.
4. User Account
4.1 Registration
To access certain features of the App, you must create a user account. You may register using your email address and a password, or through supported third-party authentication providers such as Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.
4.2 Account Security
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Given that your account may contain detailed information about your coin collection and its estimated value, you are strongly encouraged to use a strong, unique password and enable any available security features. You agree to immediately notify us at info@webnum.com if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. We shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.
4.3 Account Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the App’s settings or by contacting us at info@webnum.com. Upon account deletion, all your stored collection data, analysis history, and associated content will be permanently deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without prior notice, if we reasonably believe that you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent or illegal activity, or if your account has been inactive for a continuous period of 12 months.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
5.1 Free and Premium Tiers
Cointerest offers both free and premium subscription tiers. The free tier provides limited access to the App’s features, including a restricted number of coin identifications per day and basic collection management. Premium subscriptions unlock unlimited identifications, advanced AI grading analysis, detailed variety and error detection, comprehensive valuation reports with historical price charts, expanded collection management with export capabilities, and other enhanced features as described within the App.
5.2 Subscription Plans
Premium subscriptions are available on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis. Current pricing is displayed within the App prior to purchase. All prices are listed in United States Dollars (USD) unless otherwise indicated and are inclusive of applicable taxes where required by law.
5.3 Billing and Renewal
All subscription purchases and payments are processed exclusively through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, depending on your device platform. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your App Store or Play Store account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the rate of the selected subscription plan.
5.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will retain access to premium features until that date. We do not provide refunds for partial billing periods.
5.5 Refund Policy
Refund requests are subject to the policies of the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, as applicable. We do not process refunds directly. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact Apple Support or Google Play Support directly, or reach out to us at info@webnum.com for assistance.
5.6 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing at any time. Any price changes will take effect for the next billing cycle following reasonable advance notice to you through the App or via email. Your continued subscription after the price change constitutes your acceptance of the new pricing.
6. Artificial Intelligence Disclaimer
Cointerest utilizes artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies as its core engine for coin identification, grading, valuation, and variety detection. By using the App, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
Probabilistic Results: All AI-generated content, including coin identifications, grade estimates, valuations, variety classifications, and error attributions, is probabilistic in nature and is not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or reliable. Results may vary depending on image quality, lighting conditions, coin surface reflectivity, the angle of the photograph, and the current state of our AI models.
Grading Limitations: AI-generated grades are estimates based on photographic analysis only. They do not account for factors that require physical examination, such as surface texture, exact weight, edge characteristics, die diagnostics visible only under magnification, or the overall “eye appeal” of a coin. AI grades may differ significantly from grades assigned by professional third-party grading services. An AI grade should never be used as a substitute for professional certification.
Valuation Uncertainty: Estimated values are based on available market data and may not reflect the actual price at which a coin would sell in any given transaction. Coin markets are influenced by factors including condition, rarity, demand, population data, auction dynamics, eye appeal, toning, provenance, and collector sentiment—many of which cannot be fully assessed from photographs. Actual transaction prices may be significantly higher or lower than the App’s estimates.
Authentication Not Guaranteed: The App may fail to detect counterfeit coins, altered surfaces, added mint marks, tooled or repaired areas, or other forms of numismatic fraud. Photographic analysis has inherent limitations for authentication. Never rely solely on the App to determine the authenticity of a coin.
Evolving Technology: Our AI models are continuously updated and improved. As a result, identifications, grades, valuations, and variety attributions for the same coin may change over time as our models become more refined and our reference databases expand.
User Responsibility: You bear sole responsibility for any decisions made based on information provided by the App, including buying, selling, trading, insuring, or grading decisions. WEBNUM LLC shall not be liable for any financial loss, missed opportunity, overpayment, underselling, or other damages resulting from reliance on AI-generated content.
7. Acceptable Use and User Conduct
You agree to use Cointerest only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You shall not:
Use the App for any illegal, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose, including but not limited to using AI-generated identifications or grades to misrepresent, deceive, or defraud buyers, sellers, or insurance providers.
Represent AI-generated grades as professional third-party grades (PCGS, NGC, ANACS, ICG, or similar) or use AI-generated valuations as certified appraisals when communicating with third parties, listing coins for sale, or making insurance claims.
Use the App to facilitate the sale or distribution of known counterfeit, stolen, or illegally obtained coins.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App, its AI models, grading algorithms, or any underlying technology.
Interfere with, disrupt, or place an undue burden on the App’s servers, networks, or infrastructure, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the App or its related systems.
Use any automated means, including bots, scrapers, crawlers, or similar tools, to access or interact with the App, extract identification or valuation data in bulk, or circumvent usage limitations, except as expressly permitted in writing by us.
Upload, transmit, or distribute any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
Resell, sublicense, redistribute, or commercially exploit the App, its identification results, grading estimates, valuation data, or any content derived from it without our prior written consent.
Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with any security features of the App, including features that restrict or limit the use of the App or enforce subscription tiers.
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate legal action against anyone who, in our sole discretion, violates these provisions, including terminating the offender’s account and reporting such violations to law enforcement authorities.
8. User Content
8.1 Ownership
You retain all ownership rights in the photographs, images, descriptions, notes, collection data, and other content that you upload or create within the App (“User Content”). Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your User Content to us.
8.2 License Grant
By uploading or submitting User Content to the App, you grant WEBNUM LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, reproduce, process, adapt, and display your User Content solely for the purposes of operating, improving, and providing the App’s services, including performing coin identification and analysis, and training and enhancing our AI models. When used for AI model training, your User Content will be anonymized and stripped of all collection context, purchase prices, personal notes, and user-identifying metadata so that it cannot be attributed to you individually.
8.3 Collection Data Privacy
Your personal collection data, including which coins you own, their estimated values, purchase prices, and acquisition details, is treated as confidential information. This data is never shared with other users, advertisers, dealers, or any unauthorized third party. Only you can view and manage your collection through your authenticated account.
8.4 Representations
You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to grant the foregoing license for any User Content that you upload or submit, and that your User Content does not infringe or violate the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or any other rights of any third party.
9. Intellectual Property Rights
The App, including its entire contents, features, functionality, design, user interface, AI models, coin recognition algorithms, grading models, valuation engines, reference databases, software code, graphics, logos, trademarks, service marks, and trade names, is owned by WEBNUM LLC or its licensors and is protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property or proprietary rights laws.
These Terms do not grant you any right, title, or interest in or to the App or its content, except for the limited license to use the App in accordance with these Terms. The Cointerest name, logo, and all related names, logos, product and service names, designs, and slogans are trademarks of WEBNUM LLC. You may not use such marks without our prior written permission.
You may share individual identification or valuation results for personal, non-commercial purposes, such as discussing a coin with fellow collectors or sharing a scan result in numismatic forums. However, you may not commercially redistribute, aggregate, scrape, or resell identification data, grading results, valuation databases, or any other proprietary content generated by the App.
10. Third-Party Services and Links
The App may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources, including coin dealers, auction platforms, numismatic reference databases, grading service submission portals, and accessories suppliers. These third-party services are not under our control, and we are not responsible for their content, products, pricing, availability, grading accuracy, privacy policies, or practices. Your use of any third-party service is at your own risk and subject to the terms and conditions of that third party. Any purchases, submissions, or transactions you make through third-party services are solely between you and the third party, and we bear no liability for such interactions.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE APP IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. WEBNUM LLC EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY.
WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, WE MAKE NO WARRANTY OR REPRESENTATION THAT: (A) THE APP WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS OR EXPECTATIONS; (B) THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE; (C) THE COIN IDENTIFICATIONS, GRADE ESTIMATES, VALUATIONS, VARIETY ATTRIBUTIONS, OR ERROR DETECTIONS GENERATED BY THE APP WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, RELIABLE, OR CONSISTENT WITH PROFESSIONAL THIRD-PARTY ASSESSMENTS; (D) ANY ERRORS IN THE APP WILL BE CORRECTED; OR (E) THE APP IS FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
YOU EXPRESSLY ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT: (I) THE USE OF AI TECHNOLOGY FOR NUMISMATIC ANALYSIS INHERENTLY INVOLVES UNCERTAINTY; (II) AI-GENERATED OUTPUTS MAY CONTAIN ERRORS, MISIDENTIFICATIONS, INCORRECT GRADES, INACCURATE VALUATIONS, MISSED VARIETIES, OR FAILURE TO DETECT COUNTERFEITS; (III) THE APP DOES NOT REPLACE PROFESSIONAL GRADING SERVICES, CERTIFIED APPRAISALS, OR EXPERT NUMISMATIC CONSULTATION; AND (IV) YOU USE THE APP AND RELY ON ITS OUTPUT ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL WEBNUM LLC, ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, PARTNERS, SUPPLIERS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, FINANCIAL LOSSES FROM BUYING OR SELLING DECISIONS, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSE OF ACTION OR THE THEORY OF LIABILITY (WHETHER IN CONTRACT, TORT, NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE), AND EVEN IF WEBNUM LLC HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, WEBNUM LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES ARISING FROM: (A) YOUR RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED IDENTIFICATIONS, GRADES, VALUATIONS, OR VARIETY ATTRIBUTIONS; (B) ANY DECISION TO BUY, SELL, TRADE, HOLD, OR INSURE A COIN BASED ON THE APP’S OUTPUT; (C) THE PURCHASE OF A COIN THAT IS SUBSEQUENTLY DETERMINED TO BE COUNTERFEIT, ALTERED, OR MISATTRIBUTED, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE APP IDENTIFIED IT AS GENUINE; (D) DIFFERENCES BETWEEN AI-GENERATED GRADES AND GRADES ASSIGNED BY PROFESSIONAL THIRD-PARTY GRADING SERVICES; (E) INACCURATE VALUATIONS THAT RESULT IN OVERPAYMENT OR UNDERSELLING; OR (F) ANY MISSED VARIETIES, ERRORS, OR ANOMALIES THAT THE APP FAILED TO DETECT.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF WEBNUM LLC FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID TO US FOR SUBSCRIPTION FEES IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM; OR (B) ONE HUNDRED UNITED STATES DOLLARS (USD $100.00).
SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES. IF THESE LAWS APPLY TO YOU, SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE EXCLUSIONS OR LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY, AND YOU MAY HAVE ADDITIONAL RIGHTS.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless WEBNUM LLC, its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and suppliers from and against all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, and fees (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any rights of any third party; (d) any User Content you submit, upload, or transmit through the App; (e) any decisions you make based on AI-generated identifications, grades, valuations, or other content provided by the App; (f) any misrepresentation of AI-generated grades as professional third-party certifications; (g) any misrepresentation of AI-generated valuations as certified appraisals; or (h) any use of the App to facilitate fraud, misrepresentation, or the sale of counterfeit coins.
14. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to revise and update these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. All changes are effective immediately when posted within the App and apply to all access to and use of the App thereafter. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of material changes through the App or via email to the address associated with your account.
Your continued use of the App following the posting of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of and agreement to the changes. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the App and delete your account.
15. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach any provision of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the App will immediately cease. All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including without limitation the disclaimers in Section 3, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity provisions, and limitations of liability.
Upon termination of your account, we will permanently delete your personal data, collection data, and all stored content within 30 days, in accordance with our Privacy Policy, except where we are required by law to retain certain information or where data has been anonymized and aggregated for AI model training purposes.
16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
16.1 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws in the jurisdiction where WEBNUM LLC is registered.
16.2 Dispute Resolution
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or relating to these Terms, or the breach, termination, or invalidity thereof, shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiations between the parties for a period of thirty (30) days. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiations, it shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the jurisdiction where WEBNUM LLC is registered.
16.3 Class Action Waiver
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, YOU AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROCEEDINGS WILL BE CONDUCTED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION. YOU WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION AGAINST WEBNUM LLC.
17. General Provisions
Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and WEBNUM LLC regarding your use of the App and supersede all prior and contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, and warranties, both written and oral, regarding the App.
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, legal, and enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
Waiver: No waiver of any term or condition of these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or condition or a waiver of any other term or condition. Any failure by WEBNUM LLC to assert a right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms, by operation of law or otherwise, without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, without restriction and without your consent. Any attempted assignment in violation of this section shall be null and void.
Force Majeure: WEBNUM LLC shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations under these Terms due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, riots, embargoes, government sanctions, epidemics or pandemics, labor shortages, power outages, telecommunications failures, or any other event that could not have been reasonably foreseen or prevented.
Notices: All notices to WEBNUM LLC under these Terms shall be sent to info@webnum.com. Notices to you will be sent to the email address associated with your account or displayed within the App.
Language: These Terms were originally drafted in the English language. In the event of any conflict between the English version and any translation, the English version shall prevail.
No Professional Relationship: Nothing in these Terms shall be construed to create a partnership, joint venture, employer-employee, or professional service relationship between you and WEBNUM LLC. WEBNUM LLC is not a numismatic dealer, professional grading service, certified appraiser, or investment advisor. The App does not create any professional-client relationship.
