2.3 Information from Third-Party Services

Mazali integrates with third-party services that may provide us with additional information:

  • Recipe Source Websites: When you import a recipe from a URL, our system fetches the publicly available content of that webpage to parse and structure it into a recipe format.

  • Analytics Providers: We use analytics tools to understand how users interact with Mazali, which helps us improve the App.
  • Advertising Networks: If you use the free version of Mazali, advertising networks may collect advertising identifiers to serve personalized ads.
  • Subscription and Payment Processors: Apple App Store and Google Play Store process your subscription purchases (Mazali PRO). We do not directly receive or store your payment card information.
  • Social Media Platforms: If you sign in via Apple ID, Google, or other social login providers, we receive limited profile information as authorized by you.

6. AI-Powered Features Disclosure

Mazali extensively uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to provide its core features, including recipe import, parsing, and personalized suggestions. You should be aware of the following:

6.1 AI Recipe Parsing

  • When you import a recipe via URL, photo, or text, your input is processed through third-party AI services to extract and structure the recipe content.
  • AI parsing may contain inaccuracies, errors, or incomplete extractions. The AI may misinterpret ingredients, misread quantities, omit steps, or incorrectly identify cuisines.
  • You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-parsed recipes before cooking.

6.2 Recipe Recommendations

  • AI-generated recipe suggestions are based on patterns in your usage and preferences. They are recommendations only and not curated by professional chefs or dietitians.
  • Recommendations should not be interpreted as nutritional, dietary, or medical advice.

6.3 Health and Allergy Warnings

  • CRITICAL: Mazali’s AI does not guarantee accurate identification of allergens, dietary restrictions, or food safety.
  • If you have food allergies, intolerances, or medical dietary restrictions, you must independently verify ALL ingredients before cooking or consuming any recipe.
  • Do not rely solely on AI-generated tags, dietary labels, or ingredient lists. Cross-check with original sources.
  • Imported recipes may contain hidden allergens or ingredients not properly identified by AI.

6.4 Not a Substitute for Professional Advice

The recipes, suggestions, and content provided through Mazali do not constitute medical, nutritional, dietary, or professional culinary advice. Always consult qualified healthcare professionals, registered dietitians, or nutritionists for medical or dietary concerns.

6.5 Data Processing for AI Features

Your queries, photos, and text inputs to AI features may be processed through third-party AI service providers. Do not enter sensitive personal information (financial data, health records, government IDs, or confidential third-party information) into AI features.

6.6 AI Model Improvement

We may use anonymized or aggregated AI interaction data to improve the quality and accuracy of our recipe parsing and recommendation features.

7. Imported Content and Copyright

7.1 Personal Use of Imported Recipes

Mazali allows you to import recipes from external sources (websites, social media, books, magazines) for your personal, non-commercial use within the App. Imported recipes remain stored privately in your account.

7.2 Copyright Considerations

  • Recipes themselves are generally not copyrightable (lists of ingredients are facts), but creative expression in recipes (such as photos, descriptive instructions, and personal narratives) may be protected by copyright.
  • You are responsible for ensuring that your use of imported content complies with applicable copyright laws and the terms of service of the source website or platform.
  • WEBNUM LLC does not claim ownership of any imported recipe content.
  • If a copyright holder believes their content has been improperly imported, they may contact us at info@webnum.com to request removal.

7.3 Sharing Imported Recipes

If you choose to share imported recipes with other users or on external platforms, you do so at your own risk and are solely responsible for any copyright or attribution issues that may arise.

8. Data Storage, Security, and Retention

8.1 Data Storage Location

Your data is stored on secure cloud servers operated by our service providers. Data may be transferred to and stored in countries other than your country of residence, including countries that may have different data protection laws than your jurisdiction.

8.2 Security Measures

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit using TLS/SSL protocols
  • Encryption of data at rest where applicable
  • Secure authentication mechanisms

  • AI Processing Inputs: Recipe URLs, photos, and text submitted for AI parsing are retained only as long as needed to deliver the parsed result, plus a short period for quality assurance and model improvement (typically up to 30 days for raw inputs, then anonymized or deleted).
  • Usage and Analytics Data: Retained for up to 24 months for analytics purposes, then aggregated or deleted.
  • Crash and Error Logs: Retained for up to 12 months for debugging purposes.
  • Communications: Support emails retained for up to 36 months.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@webnum.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days (or as required by applicable law). We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.

10. Children’s Privacy

Mazali is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under these ages. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information promptly.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to Mazali, please contact us at info@webnum.com and we will take immediate action to remove the information.

Cooking Safety Note: Mazali is not designed for children to use independently. Cooking activities involve hazards (sharp tools, heat, allergens) that require adult supervision. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising any cooking activities involving minors.

11. Third-Party Services and Links

Mazali may contain links to third-party websites, services, or content (such as imported recipe source websites, blog articles, video tutorials, or external cooking resources). This Privacy Policy does not apply to such third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services before providing them with personal information.

The following third-party services are currently integrated with Mazali:

  • Apple App Store and Google Play Store (subscription processing)
  • Google AdMob or similar advertising networks (for free-tier advertising)
  • Cloud hosting and database providers (for data storage)
  • AI service providers (for recipe parsing, image recognition, and recommendations)
  • Analytics providers (for usage analytics)
  • Recipe website fetching services (for URL-based recipe imports)
  • Social login providers (Apple, Google) — if such authentication methods are enabled

12. App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

On iOS devices running iOS 14.5 or later, Mazali complies with Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework. When required, Mazali will request your permission before tracking your activity across other apps and websites owned by third parties for advertising purposes.

You can change your tracking preferences at any time through Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your iOS device.

If you deny tracking permission, you will still be able to use Mazali, but ads shown in the free version may be less personalized.

13. Camera, Photo Library, and Microphone Permissions

13.1 Camera Access

Mazali requests access to your device camera solely to:

  • Capture photos of recipes from cookbooks, magazines, handwritten notes, or printed materials
  • Take photos of dishes you have cooked (for personal recipe collections)
  • Scan recipe-related QR codes (if such features are available)

Camera access is requested only when you initiate a relevant action. Photos captured are processed for recipe import or stored locally/in the cloud as part of your recipe library.

13.2 Photo Library Access

Mazali requests access to your photo library solely to:

  • Allow you to select existing photos for recipe import
  • Allow you to add photos to your recipes from your photo library

We access only the specific photos you select; we do not scan or analyze your entire photo library.

  • Record voice notes for recipes
  • Process voice commands (such as “next step” during hands-free cooking)

15. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

Mazali may offer premium features through Mazali PRO subscriptions. Please note the following:

For billing inquiries, contact Apple or Google directly, as they process the transactions.

As a company registered in the Republic of Uzbekistan, WEBNUM LLC complies with the Uzbekistan Law “On Personal Data” (No. ЗРУ-547 of July 2, 2019) and related regulations.
