8. Imported Recipes and Copyright
8.1 Personal Use Only
Mazali allows you to import recipes from external sources (websites, social media, photos of cookbooks or magazines, etc.) strictly for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not import recipes for the purpose of:
- Building a competing recipe service or database.
- Republishing or redistributing recipes commercially.
- Training AI models outside of Mazali.
- Creating derivative works for commercial gain.
8.2 Copyright Considerations
- Lists of ingredients alone are generally not copyrightable in most jurisdictions, as they are considered factual information.
- However, creative expression in recipes — including descriptive narratives, photography, video tutorials, plating descriptions, and original cooking commentary — may be protected by copyright.
- You are responsible for ensuring that your import and use of third-party content complies with applicable copyright laws and the terms of service of the source platform (e.g., website terms, Instagram terms, YouTube terms).
- Importing copyrighted photographs, videos, or extensive narrative content without authorization may violate copyright law, regardless of the App’s technical capability to import such content.
8.3 Attribution
When Mazali imports a recipe from an identifiable source, the App may display the original source URL or attribution. You are encouraged to maintain this attribution and visit the original source for full context, photos, and creator support.
8.4 Sharing Imported Recipes
If you share imported recipes with other users, on social media, or with friends and family, you do so at your own risk and are solely responsible for any copyright, attribution, or trademark issues that may arise. WEBNUM LLC disclaims all liability for your sharing of imported third-party content.
8.5 No Endorsement of Source Content
WEBNUM LLC does not review, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy, safety, or quality of recipes imported from third-party sources. Imported recipes may contain errors, hazardous instructions, or content unsuitable for certain users.
9. AI-Powered Features — Special Terms
Mazali extensively uses artificial intelligence for core features including recipe parsing, ingredient recognition, photo analysis, and personalized recommendations. By using these features, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
9.1 AI-Generated Content Disclaimer
- AI parsing of imported recipes is automated and may contain inaccuracies, errors, omissions, or misinterpretations.
- The AI may incorrectly identify ingredients, misread quantities, fail to capture cooking steps, or misclassify cuisines and dietary categories.
- AI-generated suggestions, substitutions, and recommendations are for informational purposes only and do not constitute professional culinary, nutritional, dietary, or medical advice.
9.2 CRITICAL: Allergen and Dietary Warnings
THIS SECTION IS PARTICULARLY IMPORTANT IF YOU OR ANY INTENDED CONSUMER HAS FOOD ALLERGIES, INTOLERANCES, RELIGIOUS DIETARY REQUIREMENTS, OR MEDICAL DIETARY RESTRICTIONS.
- Mazali’s AI does NOT guarantee accurate identification of allergens, dietary restrictions, or food safety.
- Automated dietary tags (such as “gluten-free,” “vegan,” “halal,” “kosher,” “nut-free”) generated by AI MUST NOT be relied upon as definitive.
- Imported recipes may contain hidden allergens, cross-contamination risks, or ingredients not properly identified.
- You must independently verify ALL ingredients, processing methods, and dietary suitability before cooking or consuming any recipe, especially if serving to individuals with allergies, intolerances, or medical conditions.
- Cross-check ingredient lists with the original source. If in doubt, do not consume.
- For severe allergies (such as anaphylactic reactions to peanuts, shellfish, or other allergens), consult product labels, manufacturers, and qualified medical professionals — not Mazali.
9.3 Food Safety Disclaimer
- Mazali does not verify the food safety of imported or AI-parsed recipes.
- Improper food handling, undercooked ingredients, expired products, or unsafe preparation methods can cause foodborne illness, injury, or death.
- Always follow established food safety guidelines (proper temperatures, hygiene, storage) regardless of recipe instructions.
- Pregnant individuals, immunocompromised individuals, infants, elderly individuals, and those with medical conditions should consult healthcare providers regarding food safety considerations.
9.4 Not a Substitute for Professional Advice
The recipes, AI suggestions, dietary recommendations, and content provided through Mazali do not constitute medical, nutritional, dietary, religious, or professional culinary advice. Always consult qualified healthcare professionals, registered dietitians, nutritionists, religious authorities, or culinary experts for specific concerns.
9.5 Data Processing
Your queries, photos, voice inputs, and text submissions to AI features may be processed through third-party AI service providers. Do not include sensitive personal information (financial data, health records, government IDs, or confidential third-party information) in AI features.
9.6 Limitation of Liability for AI Features
To the maximum extent permitted by law, WEBNUM LLC disclaims any liability for:
- Allergic reactions, anaphylaxis, foodborne illness, or other health consequences resulting from use of AI-parsed or AI-recommended recipes.

- Financial losses resulting from incorrect ingredient lists, grocery list errors, or recipe mismatches.
- Any other damages arising from use of AI features.
